Monshō Sakakibara’s light novel series, “Majutsu o Kiwamete Tabi ni Deta Tensei Elf, Moteamashita Jumyō de Ikeru Densetsu to Naru,” has garnered significant attention since its inception in 2021. The story, which follows the adventures of a reincarnated elf, is now set to be adapted into a television anime, as announced on a special website launched this Wednesday.
The announcement was accompanied by a commemorative illustration created by the manga adaptation artist, kanco, who has been instrumental in bringing the novel’s characters to life. The illustration captures the essence of the story, hinting at the magical journey that awaits viewers.
The narrative revolves around Liese, an elf who was once a human. After a tragic accident, Liese finds himself reincarnated in a new world with a lifespan of 1,000 years. Regretting the lack of accomplishment in his previous life, Liese embarks on a quest to make the most of his second chance. He masters all forms of magic and reunites with a mysterious girl he once saved, embarking on an adventure that will cement his legacy as a living legend.
Sakakibara initially launched the story on the Kakuyomu website in 2021. The first volume of the novel, illustrated by Hatori Kyoka, was published by Starts Publishing in 2022. The manga adaptation, drawn by kanco, began serialization on Starts Publishing’s Novema website in May 2023 under the Glast COMICS label. The manga also serializes on Starts Publishing’s new manga website Manga Zegra. The first compiled book volume was released in March 2024, with the fifth volume scheduled for release on November 28.
The anticipation for this anime adaptation is palpable, as fans eagerly await the visual and auditory experience that will bring Liese’s magical journey to life.
